It seems that it’s not just desktops that will eat up more and more energy. At the Computex 2022 trade fair, an exceptionally powerful GaN laptop charger appeared, which with its power suggests that soon HEDT laptops will match the TDP of mid-range stationers.
340 watt laptop chargers? With Computex 2022, Wii Power allows us to look to the future
The level of 250-350 watts can definitely be determined by the level of power consumption that usually characterizes medium-budget PCs. However, at Computex 2022, Wii Power showed at its stand a 340-watt charger based on gallium nitride (GaN) for gaming laptops.

According to the TechPowerUp website, to which we owe this find at the fair and accurate information, this charger measures 150 x 86 x 34 mm and can deliver 20 V and an amperage of up to 17 A via a fixed power cable. In addition, it is equipped with a USB-C port with support for, among others USB Power Delivery that can deliver another 45 watts of power.
Currently, this charger is only an example of an early version of the product, but it probably reflects the form and size of new generation chargers well.
