Leakage of the new generation of Threadrippers. We know the details of the Ryzen Threadripper 5000

On August 2, hackers broke into Gigabyte’s servers and are now starting to release information they stole onto the network. So there is a leak of the new generation of Threadripper, i.e. Ryzen Threadripper 5000 processors from AMD.

Details of the Ryzen Threadripper 5000

We are thus sure that the Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series will also be recognized under the code name Chagall and will use the current Zen 3 architecture. There will be at least eight models of these processors on the market, because while five models will be designed for workstations (Threadripper Pro 5000), the other three will be dedicated to the more consumer HEDT segment (Ryzen Threadripper 5000).

In the first case, we will see systems with 64, 32, 24, 16 and 12 cores, and in the second case with 64, 32 and 24 cores. Among them, there will be significant differences in the level of energy requirements of input-output (IOD) circuits, of the order of 35 watts, which is not surprising, because the versions for the workstation provide 8-channel IMC and 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes, and not, respectively, 4- DDR4 channel memory controller and 64 PCIe 4.0 lanes.

Apparently, both series will debut in November this year, and although they do not differ from the Threadripper 3000 family currently offered by AMD, it should be remembered that the transition from Zen 2 to Zen 3 architecture will do the most here. This will not only improve the instructions per cycle, but also conquer clocks and will change the cache architecture.
