The South Korean company LG, it seems, is working on creating a cryptocurrency wallet – it recently submitted an application for registration of the ThinQ Wallet trademark.
An application has been filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) describing a product that can be used in several ways. So, ThinQ Wallet will be a “blockchain platform, a mobile electronic wallet for storing cryptocurrencies and a payment application for mobile phones”.
It is worth noting that the ThinQ trademark is also used for a number of smartphones of the South Korean conglomerate. Earlier, one of the company’s main competitors, the Samsung concern, introduced a built-in cryptocurrency wallet in the S10 flagship line, and HTC released the Exodus 1 blockchain smartphone.
LG has long been exploring the possibilities of the blockchain and is developing appropriate solutions. Last spring, a subsidiary of LG CNS launched the blockchain platform Monachain, which is used in the field of logistics. Recently it became known that on this platform will be built a system that tracks the supply of food to schools in South Korea.
