Messenger with silent messaging

Messenger with silent messaging

You probably have had a situation many times where, by accident or not, you sent someone a night message, and then you had to apologize to your friend for waking up. Messenger is gaining a feature to help solve this problem.

Thanks to silent messages in Facebook Messenger, messages at night will not wake anyone up

Meta decided to add a silent message feature to Messenger, which is however part of the update adding shortcuts. Thanks to them, we will be able to quickly perform an action, without having to search the menu. by typing “@everyone” in the chat window, all chat participants will be notified of the sent message, and “/ gif” will make it easier to send GIFs, although initially it will only be available on iOS.

The most interesting, however, are the silent messages, because after entering the abbreviation “/ silent”, the message we sent will not generate notifications at the recipient’s place. This means that the message will get where it should be, but it certainly won’t wake anyone up. Of course, as long as we remember to use the shortcut.

For now, we do not know when exactly the functionality will reach everyone. It is introduced in Messenger gradually, so we have to be patient.
