With Ryzen 3000 AMD processors, you leave the option to manufacturers to update the firmware of their motherboards equipped with X370 and B350 chipsets. Many updated the BIOS, also circumventing the limits of the 16 MB capacity chips (cutting support for older models), other companies such as MSI even presented a new line of motherboards with a 32 MB BIOS chip.
There is no certainty at the moment that X370 and B350 will also support Ryzen 4000, it would be a surprise, while there should be no problems regarding the B450, very popular with Ryzen CPU buyers. As a result, even X470 motherboard owners will not need to change.
According to a representative of the German XMG, a company that makes notebooks based on desktop platforms such as the latest APEX 15, the B450 chipset will also support future CPUs after updating the BIOS.
A confirmation of what was suspected for some time and that however does not close the doors when the chipset arrives B550. A photo of a B550 motherboard appeared online last month, and we expect an announcement within a couple of weeks. The B550 chipset should ensure full support for PCI Express 4.0 at cheaper prices than expensive X570 solutions.
