Expensive models are not uncommon for the graphics cards in the upper performance segment, which often consists of porky coolers and factory overclocking. Sometimes the company takes another step up the ladder and releases a card beyond the usual top, which MSI is now showing.
The card goes by the name Geforce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z, which is the company’s most lavish series and has previously been found in a number of different configurations. For the latest model, it is a lavish cooler with the name Tri Frozr, where what the name reveals is about three fans, two of which are 100 mm and one is 90 mm.
In terms of clock frequencies, these have not yet been determined, but are expected to end up around a turbo frequency of 1,721 MHz in the highest Lightning mode. In terms of power supply, the card is equipped with a triple set of 8-pin connectors, but the editors were not allowed to access information regarding the number of power phases.
MSI aims to get the card out in stores during the summer, when points such as pricing and exact clock frequencies are completely nailed down.
