Although in theory any high-end SSD using the PCIe 4 × 4 interface will be good with PlayStation 5, manufacturers are slowly building a list of models specifically optimized for this Sony console. One of them are the AddGame A95 drives from Addlink, which have just been revealed.

Addlink emphasizes that the AddGame A95 drives have been specially designed and optimized for the console, as evidenced especially by the presence of a 9.1mm high aluminum heat sink suggested by Sony. You will be able to buy these carriers in October and rest easy for five years, because that’s how long the warranty lasts.

I am talking about three versions, which come down to those with 1, 2 and 4 TB capacity. Of course, they support the mentioned fourth-generation PCIe interface in the form of four lines, guaranteeing sequential reading of 7300-7400 MB / s and sequential writing at the level of 7000 MB / s (depending on the capacity version).

This performance is due to the Phison PS5016-E16 NVMe 1.4 controller, DRAM cache and 3D NAND TLC memory chips. Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not disclose details about their performance in reading random samples.
