US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said FinCEN is preparing to unveil new regulations for the crypto market. The statement was made Wednesday during a hearing before the Senate Finance Committee.
However, Mnuchin did not explain in concrete terms what these requirements will consist of or when they will be announced:
“… we are about to develop some significant new requirements at FinCEN. We want to make sure that technology advances. But on the other hand, we want to make sure that cryptocurrencies are not used as the equivalent of Swiss secret bank accounts. “
Mastercard and Ripple have joined a working group that supports and funds blockchain education in schools and universities. Created by the blockchain accelerator MouseBelt, the Blockchain Education Alliance was created in October 2019.
