Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060: 6, 4 and 3 GB Models in EEC Application!

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060: 6, 4 and 3 GB Models in EEC Application!

You might think that the leaked pictures and early tests weren’t enough to prove the existence of the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, now we’ve got government documents as additional proof.

Gigabyte seems to be working like a bee, filing forty different GeForce RTX 2060 variants for the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Excessive orders not only indicate models that will fall into different price categories, we will have three different SKUs equipped with 6 GB, 4 GB and 3 GB of video memory.

Moreover, it looks like Gigabyte has registered graphics cards that can be equipped with various types of video memory, including GDDR6, GDDR5X, and even GDDR5. This could be an important departure from the very concept of Nvidia Turing-based graphics cards that have only offered GDDR6 so far.

The price increase was attributed by the manufacturer to the significant simple performance of the GeForce RTX 20 GPUs, however, the presence of different SKUs does not solve the problem, since the performance between different versions of the RTX 2060 can be too different. In any case, such a decision will cause a lot of confusion, which can reduce the value of such a decision.

Before we dive into those filings, it’s best to assume that Gigabyte might just be filing for every possible GeForce RTX 2060 variant, including those it doesn’t intend to release. As we said earlier, stay tuned for the full Nvidia conference coming soon at CES 2019 in January.

The world of the best graphics cards is about to get very interesting.
