Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti graphics cards with 12 and 8 GB VRAM

Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti graphics cards with 12 and 8 GB VRAM

A fresh leak from MSI sheds some light on memory capacities.

A recent leak from the graphics card manufacturer reinforces previous speculation that Nvidia is about to release the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti, and also allows us to know the memory configuration for two Ampere series graphics cards.

According to leaked MSI presentation materials obtained by VideoCardz, the RTX 3080 Ti will have 12 GB of VRAM, while the younger RTX 3070 Ti will run on 8 GB of VRAM.

Marketing materials from the manufacturer reveal that both variants of MSI’s Suprim Ti models rely on the same PCB design, and the 3070 Ti will use the same GPU (GA104) as the original RTX 3070, specifically the GA104-400 ( unlike the GA104-300 on the 3070), which was already indicated by early rumors. The 3070 Ti is expected to have 6144 CUDA cores versus the classic 3070’s 5888 cores.

Of course, as with any leak, one should be wary of such information, all details will be confirmed with the official release.

Note also that the leak only mentions the amount of video memory installed on MSI graphics cards, not the type of video memory, so it remains unclear whether the smaller 3070 Ti will run on GDDR6X or just GDDR6. The first rumors claimed that new items use fast memory.

Indeed, early speculation indicated that the RTX 3070 Ti would come in two versions (8GB and 16GB) of VRAM, but given that Suprime is MSI’s flagship graphics card series, it would seem that 16GB should have been offered if they were available. on this model.

Ultimately, we won’t know for sure until the 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti are rumored, and these graphics cards are expected to be officially released to the public in late May and go on sale in early June. The RTX 3080 Ti is supposed to launch on June 2nd, with the RTX 3070 Ti coming a week later (and both will no doubt sell out immediately).
