It’s been almost a year since the ColorOS 11 came out, so it’s high time for a replacement. ColorOS 12, which is based on Android 12, was introduced in China. It brings us aesthetic, security and performance improvements, as well as new features.

What’s new in ColorOS 12?

Let’s start with the interface, which has gained a more transparent appearance, which translates into greater convenience of use. It is easier to find the information you need, there are also new icons and animations based on the Quantum Animation animation engine. The Omoju function, i.e. the 3D avatar, has appeared. Based on more than 20,000 key points on the face, the function will create an animated equivalent of our face.

Oppo added cooperation between multiple screens in the new system. There is a FlexDrop function that allows you to drag applications with a simple gesture and smoothly switch between full screen and small window mode. And Cross-Screen Interconnection will give us the ability to operate the phone from a computer or easily transfer files between devices.

Of course, there were news related to security and privacy. You will be able to erase your location data from photos or videos when we share these files with others. ColorOS 12 will also display an appropriate message when the application uses the microphone, location or camera. The user will also get a detailed view of the permissions granted to applications.
