According to earlier reports, Oppo has just presented a new 10x zoom technology. It may soon appear in the first smartphones.
The zoom works with three cameras. These include an ultra-wide-angle sensor, main sensor and telephoto lens. The camera must cover a super wide angle to get the 10x hybrid optical zoom. There is also double optical image stabilization in the camera. This will make it easier for the user to take opaque pictures. During the presentation, Oppo added that the new technology has over 100 patents.
The first samples of the camera’s capabilities will be presented during MWC 2019. Then we will see how this solution works in practice. We hope that it will not only stay on paper, like the 5x zoom, but will soon go to the first smartphones. The first rumors say about its use in OnePlus 7, but we still have to wait for confirmation of this.
