Released unscheduled release of Firefox with important changes

In response to numerous user complaints, Mozilla hastily released an out-of-order version of its Firefox 80.0.1 browser with the necessary fixes.

First of all, the specialists dealt with the crash that led to constant “crashes” during the browser operation when accessing the GPU. In addition, the developers got rid of the problem with rendering graphics when opening some websites that use the WebGL software library. It is known that this bug also led to incorrect display of text in browsers running on Linux (with NVIDIA video cards), Xorg and Windows 10 operating systems with Direct3D 11 library installed.

Lisa users will also be pleased with the fact that in the latest release a bug with downloading files has been fixed. It occurred due to the use of some extensions and the absence of third-party cookies in the requests. Most often, the crash occurred in browsers with their anti-snooping settings set to maximum. The developers solved this problem by adding appropriate cookies to the download requests.

Additionally, representatives of the Mozilla company announced the imminent introduction of a new address bar in the browser, in which it will be possible to quickly switch between search engines. The innovation is still available for testing in Firefox nightly builds.
