Repair the Steam Deck on your own. iFixit has started selling spare parts

Steam Deck repair now possible with iFixit spare parts

iFixit gave Steam Deck a 7 out of 10 rating, praising the opening procedure and modularity but stating that the battery is difficult to remove and the charging port is soldered. The parts available in the company’s offer include housing elements, joysticks, fans, buttons and even displays. The cheapest parts are membranes for buttons, which cost from $ 4.99, for $ 6.99 you can get new buttons, and triggers for $ 7.99. The buttons aren’t on sale yet, but the joysticks are and cost $ 19.99 apiece.

Some components can be purchased with tools and an example of this is the Steam Deck fan for $ 24.99 which costs $ 29.99 in the kit with the tools you need to replace. The most interesting element? Definitely a display that can be bought for $ 64.99 in the version for weaker consoles and $ 94.99 in the richest version, but the lack of, among others, the battery that iFixit published instructions apply to.
