ROG MATRIX GeForce RTX 2080 Ti with integrated water cooling

Although we cannot complain about the number of proprietary graphics card variants today, it is hard not to get the impression that the vast majority of them do not stand out from the crowd. Traditional solutions, backlight and often phenomenal cooling housing. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to the latest ASUS announcement, namely the ROG MATRIX GeForce RTX 2080 Ti model.

This one welcomed something innovative on board, which the manufacturer calls “Infinity Loop”. In short – AIO liquid cooling. However, this is not just any solution, because the entire cooler and the elements necessary for its operation have been built into the card’s laminate. As a result, the water cooling present in the ROG MATRIX does not require any external heat sink on the housing. Ultimately, this model looks like an oversized card with a really extensive heatsink, which is cooled by a trio of fans, but you only need to look at such details as, among others, pronounce the occupation of three slots in the housing. In my opinion, ASUS was up to the task anyway, because integrating water cooling on the graphics card itself cannot be a simple task. The only question is whether such a construction did not require shortcuts in a few moments, but this will only be verified by independent tests.

On board the ROG MATRIX GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, of course, the TU102 core in its traditional configuration was found, but the advanced cooling system (reportedly comparable to a 240 mm radiator) allowed to increase the performance from 14.2 TFLOPS to 15.7 TFLOPs. Of course, this was achieved by clocking, which in boost mode reaches 1815 MHz (from the base 1545 MHz). Small OC also did not miss GDDR6 memory, the effective frequency here is 14800 MHz. Although ASUS did not disclose the price, it is speculated that it will reach $ 1,600, which we will verify soon, because it is expected to enter the market within the next dozen or so days.
