Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT and Ryzen 5 3600XT: debut in mid-June

Yesterday, with this news, we reported rumors that indicated the next debut of new AMD processor versions of the Ryzen 3000 family. There will be 3 new models, according to the information anticipated by the Wccftech website in this article:

  • Ryzen 9 3900XT
  • Ryzen 7 3800XT
  • Ryzen 5 3600XT

From the suffix X we switch to the XT suffix, already used by AMD for its video cards of the Radeon family. The technical characteristics in terms of the number of cores and threads will not change, always remaining equal to 12-24 for the Ryzen 9 model, 8-16 for the Ryzen 7 model and 6-12 for the Ryzen 5 CPU.

These processors will bring a increase in clock frequencies compared to those of the X series models now on sale; it is presumed that this will take place without intervention on the TDP of the processors, equal to 95 Watts for the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 models and 105 Watts for the Ryzen 9 CPU. The continuous refinement of 7 nanometer production technologyused in the production of these CPUs would have made these margins possible, pending the debut of the Ryzen 4000 CPUs for desktop systems based on Zen 3 architecture.

The latter will presumably come on the market during the third quarter of 2020, therefore about 15 months after the commercial launch of the first Ryzen 3000 CPUs for desktop systems on 7 July 2019. It is evident that the new Ryzen CPUs were developed by AMD as a response to the tenth generation Intel Core processors, on sale on the market just these days.

For the new CPUs of the XT range, the announcement is scheduled for June 16, with commercial debut for the July 7, 2020 exactly 1 year after the start of sales of the first Ryzen 3000 CPUs.
