The Azaris prototype from Ferox drives its wheels with a hydraulic system

You can safely throw this novelty to all automotive enthusiasts who believe that this market is still stagnant. The Azaris prototype from Ferox is unique in itself, but the true craftsmanship can be seen in its propulsion system.

The Azaris itself is an ATV designed from the ground up with 100 horsepower provided by the BMW R1200GS engine. Unfortunately, this one does not drive all six wheels, because it is limited to two pairs at the back. It does it, however, in a big way, because via a pump, which is in turn connected by means of liquid lines next to the rocker arms to all driven wheels.

To make the whole thing meaningful, their hubs have something like paddle wheels inside, which are turned on by low-pressure water pushed through a pump. This then returns to the pump itself and the process starts anew, allowing both forward and reverse wheel rotation to take account of the new form of braking. Such a system in Azaris is able to provide as much as 678 Nm of torque per wheel, although mechanisms have already been tested in their laboratories, which are able to twist up to 1152 Nm. Of course, only with a sufficiently powerful engine.

Ferox, of course, touts its solution, ensuring that it makes “the system incredibly responsive.” But the numbers make it clear that the power of this solution lies in the torque it offers, so I can already see its use in sports cars. Even though the system attached to each wheel weighs around 11 kilograms. Azaris, however, is only a prototype, used to present this invention, which with its suspension and design will conquer many hostile terrain during the shows.
