Less than a year ago, I checked Signal, the messenger recommended by Elon Musk, to blow its popularity on the Polish market and convince you that there is nothing wrong with it. After a year of using it (although with only a few interlocutors), I can maintain my previous opinion that it is worth using this communicator. At the same time, I hope that this will not change in the near future, as we have just learned that the president of Signal is resigning from his position.

Moxie Marlinspike (left in photo above) is Signal’s father. He took care of both the Application and the server, developing its original versions and solving problems individually. After the Signal Foundation was founded, this was noticed by WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton, who provided Signal with a full $ 50 million of growth. It was a massive cash injection to hire people for the team and greatly expand the application.

Now a group of 30 people is working on Signal, having their own specific roles and tasks in the team in which Marlinspike believes completely. That’s why in the last few months he has been interviewing candidates who could take over his role as CEO of the company, because he knows that even if he leaves, the project will have the right people in the right place. Marlinspike believes that the change will even be beneficial and will result in the expansion of Signal.
