MOSCOW, Sep 27 – PRIME. The emergency on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines looks like a sabotage by European opponents of Russian gas, said Aleksey Grivach, deputy head of the National Energy Security Fund.
“It is difficult to comment until all the circumstances are clarified, but it looks like a diversion on the infrastructure,” he told RIA Novosti.
According to the expert, a leak on only one line could be an accident or a consequence of a defect, but problems on three lines at once look like a manifestation of “someone’s evil will.” At the same time, opponents of Russian gas are not particularly hiding, Grivach noted.
He also noted that the repair of the gas pipeline may take several months.
On Monday, Nord Stream 2 AG reported a sharp drop in pressure on the Nord Stream 2 line filled with technical gas. After that, a decrease in pressure was recorded on both threads of the Nord Stream pipeline. The Danish Maritime Authority has issued a warning to ships about a gas leak near the island of Bornholm.
Active opponents of Russian gas in Europe are the United States and Ukraine, which prevented the construction of Nord Stream 2. At the same time, Moscow has repeatedly stressed that the gas pipeline is an exclusively commercial project that is beneficial to Europe.
