3D printing is developing at its best, which is confirmed not only by houses made with the help of this technology, but also bridges and, apparently, park equipment. AICT is responsible for such a project in the world, which made 3D printing enrich the park for the first time in history.
AICT, or Advanced Intelligent Construction Technology, even boasts that the fruit of this work is in fact “the first park printed in 3D”. This one is next to the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center and measures 5,523 square meters.

Of course, there are grasses, shrubs and trees, but the most eye-catching are concrete structures printed in 3D in the form of functional benches, flower beds around plants, decorative walls, paths, curbs and sculptures. Supposedly, everything was cheaper than the involvement of “ordinary processes” and was not only faster, but also required the sacrifice of “a fraction of the cost.”
A large percentage of the construction costs are rising labor costs due to the lack of skilled labor. Robotics-based technology increases the productivity of the workforce, resulting in more productive workplaces, shorter construction times and overall cost savings. By using 3D printing, AICT can produce a modest home in weeks, not months.

Apparently, as many as 2,000 concrete elements were printed for this purpose, so there were a few of them, which is why AICT used KUKA robots. The process itself was probably well known to you and boiled down to the appropriate programming of robots (robot arms ended with 3D printers), which, based on the obtained patterns, extruded a mysterious mixture of concrete from their nozzles, creating given elements “layer by layer”.
