The premiere of Coffee Lake processors turned out to be a hit. New constructions, even without OC, I do great in games or various applications. However, they still have tremendous power that is brought out by the best overclockers in the world.
Der8auer with Asus cranked the i7 8700K to 7.3 GHz on all cores. The result was achieved on the Maximus X Apex board and with the use of liquid nitrogen. Interestingly, a few hours after this result, overclocker Kovan Yang beat this result with a result of 7.405 GHz on each core. As you can see in the screenshots below, the base frequency is basically doubled.
Der8auer thinks the best overclocking board is the previously mentioned Maximus X Apex. However, the overclocker works closely with Asus, so its words are no surprise. Coffee Lake processors are great units that will cause AMD a lot of problems again. So far, records are breaking in frequency and I am waiting for records in benchmarks. AMD has to answer that somehow.
