After several weeks of rumor and leak, the POCO X2 smartphone is finally official. The presentation of the successor to the much appreciated PocoPhone F1 flagship killer took place in India, but we are talking about a smartphone that will probably also arrive in Europe, as happened with the previous model.
The eyes of the fans were therefore focused on the event of POCO, in which it arrived the announcement of the expected low cost smartphone. Let's then analyze in detail what revealed by the company that recently "detached" from Xiaomi.

POCO X2: technical data and price

Interestingly, at the beginning of the event there was talk of the arrival of "a new series", therefore there will probably be other devices coming from the company during the year. The keynote immediately focused on the announcement that everyone was waiting for: POCO X2. Well, the smartphone is equipped with a 6.67 IPS LCD display inches with Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), aspect ratio 20: 9, 120 Hz refresh rate and hole for the dual front camera. The company said the latter will be able to make the user experience much smoother.

Clearly, one of the fields that will benefit most will be gaming: the company has shown an image of titles that will support this refresh rate (among the most famous games we find Real Racing 3 and Super Mario Run). However, even daily use will have an extra step in terms of fluidity, similar to what we have seen with other smartphones mounted on a display with this refresh rate.

There will also be the Intelligent Dynamic Refresh Rate, or a software feature that will choose how to set the refresh rate according to the context, in order to impact less on consumption.

Moving on to the components present under the body, we find an Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G octa-core processor operating at a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz, flanked by an Adreno 618 GPU, 6 / 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 / 256GB of internal UFS 2.1 memory. We are therefore talking about a rather interesting configuration, which however does not go exactly to the high end of the market, as had happened with PocoPhone F1.

During the presentation, the company has repeatedly compared POCO X2 with Realme X2, which is the excellent mid-range smartphone that we reviewed a few months ago. This time, therefore, we can not speak of a flagship killer, but the smartphone still seems to promise well and have all the credentials to be able to put the clubs in the wheels to the best mid-range on the market. As for autonomy, POCO X2 has a 4500 mAh battery with 27W fast charge support (it has been confirmed that the fast charger will be present in the package).

The company has also focused heavily on the photographic sector of its smartphone, since we find a quadruple rear camera with a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor (f / 1.89), an 8MP wide angle lens (120 degrees, f / 2.2), a 2MP lens for depth of field (f / 2.0) and a 2MP sensor for macros (f / 2.4). On the front there is instead a 20MP + 2MP (f / 2.2) dual camera. Features include RAW mode, 960 fps slow motion and VLOG mode.
For the rest, there is no lack of a side fingerprint sensor, the 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones and all the classic connectivity that you would expect from such a smartphone. In general, POCO X2 remembers Redmi K30 in many aspects, from the design to the technical data sheet, and therefore the rumors in this sense in the end turned out to be true.

Speaking of price and availability, for the moment POCO X2 has been announced only for the Indian market, where it will be sold to a price of Rs 15,999 (about 203 euros at the current exchange rate) for the 6 / 64GB variant, 16.999 Rs (about 216 euros) for the 6 / 128GB variant and 19.999 Rs (about 255 euros) for the 8 / 256GB variant. In India, sales will begin on February 11, 2020 and the colors available will be Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple and Phoenix Red. For more details on the smartphone, we advise you to consult the official website of POCO.
