The new revision of PlayStation 5 has made its debut. How is it different from the original?

In fact, we have known for several weeks that Sony has produced a new revision of its next-generation console. However, it is only now that this new PlayStation 5 revision has entered the first market. Interestingly, we are talking about stores in Australia.

The new revision of PlayStation 5 hit the first market

Local service reported this Press Start, indicating that the PS5 models in the new revision are easy to recognize, because they now include a new screw for the base in a vertical position, which no longer requires a screwdriver, allowing manual adjustment. They are also clearly indicated by the new model number – CFI-1102A, and not the original CFI-1000.

It is also enough to hold PlayStation 5 in your hand to notice the difference, because in the new version the console is about 300 grams lighter. At the moment, we do not know how these savings were made and what, but considering the market debut, it is probably a matter of time until someone carefully compares the two revisions.

There will probably be many opportunities for this, because Sony is already preparing an official software update for the market, which will allow the installation of an additional M.2 NVMe SSD in the console not only for beta testers. However, for this operation, you will need a screwdriver.
