The number of active oil and gas rigs, a leading production indicator, rose by 1 unit to 764 units in the week of September 17-23, according to Baker Hughes.

The number of drilling rigs is 243 units or 47% higher than in the same period last year.

The number of oil drilling rigs in the reporting week increased by 3 units, up to 602 units. The number of gas drilling rigs was reduced by 2 units to 160 units.

In August, the number of oil and gas drilling rigs declined after rising for 24 months. As a result of September, the number of oil and gas installations may also decrease.
