The perfect smartphone up to PLN 1,500: Asus ZenFone 5

As part of our series, we present you another smartphone worth considering when shopping. This time it is the Asus ZenFone 5 model, which is perfect as a construction up to PLN 1,500. What is it characterized by?

Asus ZenFone 5 is equipped with a 6.2-inch screen with a resolution of 2246 x 108 px and a Super IPS + matrix. The ratio of its size to the housing is 90%. The heart of the smartphone is the Snapdragon 636 processor, which was made in a 14 nm production process and has 8 cores. The GPU is Qualcomm Adreno 509. The smartphone has 4 GB of RAM. This amount should be enough for everyone. The internal memory is 64 GB, but can be expanded with a microSD card up to 2 TB. On the back is a 12MP camera with a Sony IMX363 sensor and f / 1.8 aperture. It is supported by an additional wide-angle 120 ° and SI lens. In the front there is an 8 MP camera with f / 2.0 aperture. The battery has a capacity of 3300 mAh and the smartphone works under the control of Android Oreo with the Asus ZenUI 5 overlay.

What sets ZenFone 5 apart from the competition?

Let’s start with the build quality. It is really great. The smartphone is made of two glasses connected to each other by a metal frame. The manufacturer also talks about an edge-to-edge screen with a 2.5D curvature. Thanks to this, it looks really great. The screen is protected with Gorilla Glass, which ensures resistance to scratches, so you can be sure that nothing bad will happen to your ZenFon. Just in case – the phone also comes with a silicone case.

The fingerprint reader is placed on the back. It is located in a good place, so its operation is not difficult. It also works very quickly and flawlessly – it definitely makes it easier to use the smartphone.

The smartphone is also equipped with many different sensors. These include facial recognition, accelerometer, digital compass, proximity sensor, ambient brightness or light. Thanks to them, you will definitely use the potential of virtually every application on Google Play.

In many reviews you will meet the opinion that the screen is excellent. This is absolutely true. The smartphone has a note, but it is not very invasive. The display with high resolution and pixel density equal to 402 PPi provides a great visual experience. It has one of the highest brightness levels on the market, and the quality of the displayed colors is at a very high level (100% coverage of the DCI-P3 palette). At its price, it certainly outperforms the competition.

ZenFone 5 boasts a very good AI. With advanced functions, you can easily take great pictures. AI anticipates your needs and adapts to them. In combination with good cameras you can get really good quality photos.

As I mentioned before, the smartphone has a 3300 mAh battery. It allows for up to 25 hours of talk time or up to 17 hours of operation on WiFi. All tests confirm the long battery life, which allows you to use the smartphone for a full day without having to connect to a power bank. What’s more, the battery has a quick charge that will charge the phone to 60% in 38 minutes.

Another issue is the musical possibilities. The smartphone has a 3.5 mm audio connector that allows you to connect standard headsets. Many new designs do not have this, which will force users to use more expensive and not necessarily better wireless headphones. Nevertheless, the phone uses the USB-C connector, which means that it maintains all modern standards. It is also worth mentioning the speakers themselves, which are really high-class. They offer very good sound, they also have two amplifiers, Hi-Res audio support and DTS Headphone: X, which will be appreciated by people watching various movies in bed or on the couch.

At a price of up to PLN 1,500, Asus ZenFone 5 is certainly one of the most profitable designs. It is characterized by excellent workmanship, appearance and price-quality ratio. A brilliant screen, a good battery and camera or a nice specification are reasons enough to consider buying this model. So if you are looking for something interesting up to PLN 1,500, it is definitely worth turning to this design, which now costs less than PLN 1,400.
