Microsoft, Sony and ASUS are among the companies that violate warranty rights

Probably each of you knows these little stickers placed on the connections of the housing or screws. Of course, breaking the warranty seals means that the company refuses to repair, which is illegal according to the US Federal Trade Commission.

Due to this, on April 6, they sent letters to Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, HTC, Hyundai and ASUS informing about this incident. They refer to the Magnuson-Moss law that has prevailed in the USA since 1975. This makes it clear that a manufacturer pricing its products at more than $ 5 cannot apply any restrictions to its warranty. Interestingly, Microsoft also received a warning due to the principle according to which the repair of the Xbox console by a third company (e.g. unauthorized service) also involves the loss of warranty.

The commission gave companies 30 days to respond to these allegations. The deadline will therefore pass next Sunday, but it does not seem that any of the parties will take any action. All because of the legal force of the organization, which cannot directly bring any consequences on the producers. However, if the case goes to court … who knows? Maybe it will take the turn of the recent indictment against Samsung, Hynix and Micron?
