Panasonic has just announced the Toughbook 40, Panasonic’s new most durable laptop, with a price starting at $ 4,899. This 14-inch laptop is designed for professionals who work in extreme or dangerous conditions.

This laptop is primarily protected by a magnesium alloy housing, which is complemented by an integrated handle and reinforced by a series of reinforced port plugs. In terms of specifications, Panasonic chose the previous generation Intel Core i5 or i7 with the option of adding a dedicated Intel or AMD graphics card. On the memory side, there is a maximum of 64 GB of RAM and 2 TB of SSD storage with encryption. An additional security feature of the new Toughbook is the Secure Wipe feature, which erases the contents of the disk in seconds. In addition, the laptop supports Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, 4G and 5G connectivity, and among its ports is Thunderbolt 4.
