The US Senate Banking Committee will hold a hearing on the regulatory framework for cryptocurrency and blockchain next week. Discussions will be broadcast live.
According to a press release, on July 30, the Committee will hold an open meeting entitled “Study of the regulatory framework for digital currencies and the blockchain.” It is not yet known whether the hearing will be devoted to familiarization with the situation or whether any specific legislation will be discussed.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire, member of Congressional Research Services Rebecca Nelson, and law professor at the University of California Law School in California Mehrsa Baradaran will speak as expert witnesses.
Note that the US Congress has already held a series of hearings on the issues of the cryptocurrency industry, the last of which took place last week and was devoted to the Libra cryptocurrency.
