Currently, Italy currently has no operational offshore wind farms. It is certain, however, that this will change, as the national wind energy association Anev has set a target to be achieved by 2040, which includes the creation of such power plants with a capacity of five gigawatts. Chances are, twin inclined wind turbines will be part of the effort to meet this goal.
Italian seas are definitely more friendly to floating than turbines embedded in the depths of the sea for a simple reason – they are simply too deep. Stockholm-based Hexicon, which established a 50-50 joint venture with Bologna-based Avapa Energy, called AvenHexicon, is expected to take advantage of this.
Hexicon dedicated to the development of floating wind farms and the design of patented floating wind platforms with two characteristically inclined turbines. In turn, Avapa Energy is responsible for the development of offshore wind farms in Italy. So this combination seems almost perfect.

This is also how AvenHexicon will identify locations for floating wind farms and initiate the processes of obtaining permits for their establishment. It will use Hexicon floating platforms as well as encourage other developers to use these twin wind turbines.
