Twitter will make sure that post editing is not overused

After many years of waiting, we already know that Twitter is working on making it possible to edit published posts. Now we have learned a little more about how this feature works.

Thanks to the new leak, we can get a better look at the tweet editing that Twitter is preparing for us. The function will be available in both the mobile application and the desktop version. Overall, this is great news, because website users have been waiting for this opportunity for many years. However, with the announcement of work on the functionality, many questions arose as to whether it would be regulated in any way. It’s about situations in which, for example, a given tweet has reached a large range, and then its content has been changed to something harmful.

Alessandro Paluzzi shared a screen showing what an edited tweet might look like. There you can see that next to the date of posting the entry, the “Edited” icon appears, which is to provide an overview of the history of changes using the “Editing History” interface. This should clear up most of your concerns about this option, because either way, you’ll be able to check out the pre-edit content of your posts. For now, the function is underdeveloped, but this is not surprising, because editing tweets is still in the testing phase.
