MOSCOW, 1 Sep — PRIME. Saboteurs of the armed Ukrainian formations in two sabotage groups of up to 60 people attempted to seize the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
According to the agency, at about 6.20 Moscow time, up to 60 saboteurs landed on seven high-speed motor boats on the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir, three kilometers northeast of the ZNPP. The saboteurs were blocked by the units of the Russian Guard guarding the ZNPP, and units of the Russian Armed Forces approached them for reinforcement, they are being destroyed with the involvement of army aviation helicopters, the Ministry of Defense reported.
Later, the department reported that at about 7.00 Moscow time, units of the Russian army stopped an attempt to land a few kilometers from the Zaporizhzhya NPP near the village of Vodiane on two self-propelled barges that left Nikopol.
“As a result of the fire damage of the Russian armed forces, two self-propelled barges with tactical landing forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were sunk,” the Defense Ministry said.
