VirtuaLink allows VR headsets to work on a single cable

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to put on a VR headset and go on an immersive journey, one thing has surely bothered you. We are talking about … cables, countless numbers of which must be connected to an efficient machine. However, thanks to VirtuaLink there is a way.

It is an open standard developed under the leadership of huge companies including AMD, Nvidia, Valve, Microsoft and Oculus. It allows you to connect VR headsets with computers and consoles via a single, high-speed USB-C cable. Of course, this is not a standard cable, but modernized and improved in terms of speed. Thanks to it, the configuration of the equipment is child’s play, and the connection to less advanced devices (laptops, notebooks) is simply possible.

The VirtuaLink solution provides four high-speed HBR3 Display Port lines at the same time, the ability to transfer detailed data quality, a number of sensors and a 27W power supply. Most importantly, however, the new standard has been tailored specifically to VR technology. This minimized delays, increased throughput to the required no values, and freed future assemblies from a ton of wires.
