Huawei MateView is one of the newest monitors on the Polish market. High-end equipment surprises with possibilities, price and pre-sale offer.

Huawei MateView will decorate any interior

Huawei MateView is definitely one of the most beautiful monitors available on the market. We will fit it into the interior literally. Elegant, minimalist or painfully modern.

This is due to the simple design and brilliant workmanship. The entire housing is made of aluminum. Both when it comes to the screen border and a solid footer. For this we have nice, shiny inserts and very thin frames around the display.

The location of the ports has a very positive effect on the appearance of the monitor. Ports, let’s call them fixed, i.e. those to which we usually have permanently connected cables, are located on the back of the base. There is a power socket, an HDMI port and a mini-DisplayPort. Thanks to this, if the monitor is properly positioned, the cables can be completely invisible.

On the side, we have two high-speed USB ports, another USB-C port, a 3.5mm Jack socket and a switch.

Huawei MateView can effectively reduce the number of cables on the desk

A touch bar for function control is located on the bottom edge of the monitor

In fact, Huawei MateView needs only one cable to work – a power cable. We can do the rest wirelessly.

Any image source can be wirelessly connected to the monitor. It can be virtually any new laptop, and the image will be transmitted over the Wi-Fi network. We can also pair a Huawei smartphone or tablet with EMUI with the monitor, and then use them in desktop mode.

In the case of Huawei smartphones, pairing with the monitor is very easy. It is enough to put the smartphone on the monitor stand and the screen will immediately ask if we want to establish a connection.

As if that was not enough, we can connect a mouse and keyboard to MateView via Bluetooth. Then use them to control any connected device. Regardless of whether it will be a laptop, tablet or smartphone.

If you prefer a classic cable connection, the possibility of simultaneous image, sound and charging the laptop with the same USB-C cable is a great help. The maximum supported charging power is 65W, so we can quickly charge Huawei laptops as well as most third-party devices on the market.

The 3: 2 aspect ratio is actually more screen in the screen

Almost everyone who has had the opportunity to use a 3: 2 screen knows that returning to the traditional 16: 9 aspect ratio later is very painful. The reason for this is very simple. In the case of the 3: 2 aspect ratio, we simply get more screen and more space to work.

Huawei MateView offers us a resolution of 3840 x 2560. However, on a daily basis I use a 4K screen with a diagonal of 28 inches (28.2 inches in MateView), which offers a resolution of 3840 x 2160. The difference is not big, but if we put two of this type next to each other screens are actually a Huawei screen that offers up to 20% more work space. These extra pixels mean that we can see most of the documents or web pages. We can easily place four program windows next to each other and we will not feel that they are too small.

Huawei MateView offers great image quality

Huawei MataView is a great monitor for work not only because of the 3: 2 aspect ratio and displaying more content than a typical screen. Not without significance is the very high image quality, which will be appreciated by people working with multimedia.

Huawei declares a brightness of 500 nits, 100% sRGB coverage, 98% for DCI-P3, a contrast of 1200: 1 and a delta E ratio (color reproduction) below 2. The value of this parameter below 2 tells us that the color distortion is practically imperceptible for the human eye.

Honestly, these are laboratory values, but what I was able to measure at home does not differ much from them. The maximum brightness was 468 nits, the color coverage for the sRGB palette is 100% and for the DCI-P3 95%. In turn, the average delta E is 1.53.

Dry data confirms that Huawei MateView offers very high image quality and it can be seen with the naked eye. The image is very bright, contrasting, and offers very nice colors that can be easily adjusted to your own parameters. A lot of configuration options allow us to obtain more saturated and warm colors, e.g. for watching movies, as well as not exaggerated, more real colors for photo or video processing. I must admit that one of the first things I did after connecting the monitor was to try to take pictures. Thanks to the high resolution and very good image quality, it was a very pleasant activity.
