What about the combination of OxygenOS and ColorOS? OnePlus takes the floor

There have been talk for a long time about plans to combine OxygenOS and ColorOS systems into one unified interface based on Android and intended for both Oppo and OnePlus smartphones. Today we know that none of this.

After OnePlus merged with Oppo, there were talk of unifying both overlays used by individual producers. In September, it was announced that this is actually the plan and it will come into force with the OnePlus 10 series. However, at the beginning of this month, even before the premiere of OnePlus 10 Pro, there were reports that earlier plans would not come into force. During the premiere, we became convinced of the truthfulness of these reports. But what about the official news on this?

These were provided by OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau. He revealed in his blog post that the two systems will not be combined, but OxygenOS and ColorOS will still operate on the basis of the same code base, created on the occasion of OxygenOS 12. This will allow for greater integration of both systems, but will not bring total their connections. Of course, this does not mean that both brands will stop exchanging technologies. This cooperation will continue.

Leaving both overlays separately will surely please fans of the OnePlus brand. After the announcement in September, they expressed a great deal of dissatisfaction online. So you can see that the company listened to their response, showing how important the opinion of the community is for them. So this means that OxygenOS 13 will still be as light and transparent overlay close to pure Android as its previous versions.
