YouTube hides the paw count down. Why?

The paw down count shows how much negative feedback the video has gathered. However, it is difficult to rely on these numbers, after all, there are many people who give their feet down “for the sake of principle” to bring down an unpopular artist. Of course, this is also a way to show that we did not like the material, but the first option is becoming truer.

That is why YouTube will decide to hide the number of paws down. The functionality does not disappear from under the videos, you will still be able to express this reaction, but other users will not see the counter. It will be visible to creators, so they can still see the number of them via YouTube Studio.

As stated by the website, they want to “… create a friendly and respectful environment in which creators have the opportunity to be successful and feel safe enough to express themselves”.
