12Gb RTX 2060 to be released on December 7 –

In September we inform you that NVIDIA would already be involved in a new RTX 2060 updated under Turing architecture. This new model known as PG161 would have 12GB GDDR6 memory and the same GPU TU106-300, except with a postfix KX.

Summing up these little technical data, the new RTX 2060 it would only see a change in memory capacity doubled compared to the 6GB RTX 2060 that was released in January 2019. At the time NVIDIA reportedly told board partners to anticipate this card by the end of this year 2021 , for a possible launch in January, depending on how quickly they can be manufactured.

Well, in the end it won’t be January, the 12Gb RTX 2060 will be released on December 7. We have extracted this information from a publication on twitter where they explain that two new references of the 3000 series will be launched separately, including the much rumored ones RTX 3070 Ti with 16 GB of VRAM and NVIDIA RTX 3080 with 12 GB of VRAM.

It is clear that NVIDIA wants to cover that gap it left in the mid-range, but as things are currently, we are sure that they will soon be exhausted and we will see them in mining rings and in second-hand portals and applications.
