TMSI Prestige X570 Creation Review: Test | Specs | Hashrate  – The MSI Prestige X570 Creation is a motherboard that supports new processors AMD Ryzen third generation, dedicated to all those who want to assemble a PC dedicated to rendering, video editing and content creation in general, using high-end components such as the Ryzen 9 3900X (now available on Amazon for less than 580 euros) or the more recent Ryzen 9 3950X.

Looking at the new motherboard from MSI, they immediately catch the eye two large covers present: one part from the fan of the X570 chipset (positioned lower, so as to improve cooling) and surrounds four of the seven PCIe 4.0 slots, the other is located above the I / O panel and presents gods RGB LED, which we also find on the right side of the motherboard.

The I / O panel offers great possibilities regarding connectivity: we have a total of 14 USB ports, 12 of type 3.2 (11 Type-A, 1 Type-C) and 2 type 2.0. Then we find a PS / 2 combo port for old mice and keyboards, 5 3.5 mm audio jacks, an S / PDIF output and connectors for Wi-Fi antennas, as well as the two LAN ports (respectively Gigabit and 10G) .

Just behind the panel MSI has inserted a heatpipe that connects the VRMs to the chipset fan, thus creating a better and more efficient cooling system, which allows you to push the MOSFETs to the maximum.

In the upper part of the MSI Prestige X570 Creation we find, in addition to the socket AM4, i IR digital VRMs with 14 + 2 + 1 phases, two 8-pin EPS connectors and four DDR4 RAM slots which support a maximum of 128 GB of memory and a speed of up to 4600 MHz. Moving further to the right we find 5 headers for the fans (one dedicated to the CPU, one to the liquid cooling pump and three to the system fans), two sensors of temperature, two headers dedicated to RGB (one of which specific for Corsair branded products) and the 24-pin ATX power connector.

In the lower half of the card we have i seven PCI-Express 4.0 slots, four PCIe 4.0 x1 e three PCIe 4.0 x16. The MSI Prestige X570 Creation obviously supports multi-GPU configurations, precisely 3-way Nvidia SLI and 2-way AMD CrossFire. Under the cover described above we find two M.2 slots, both of type PCIe 4.0 x4. On the right side there are 3 USB headers which allow you to connect 4 USB 2.0 ports, 4 USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A and one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, 6 SATA III connectors and another header dedicated to RGB.

Below the last PCIe x16 slot MSI has inserted the connector for the audio panel of the case, others four 4 pin headers to which to connect the fans, an additional connector for the USB of the chassis and one for RGB LED. We have infinite the classic “JFP1” to which to connect the access and reset buttons and, just above, two physical buttons to switch on and reset directly the MSI Prestige X570 Creation. Here we also have a small LED screen that indicates the Q-Code.

By clicking on the item “Hardware Monitor”, a window will open showing the temperature of the different components and some voltages. From here you can also view the fan speeds connected to the motherboard and their curve, which can also be changed according to your needs.

Pressing F7 we will switch to advanced mode and we will have access to all the configuration options offered by the MSI Prestige X570 Creation. In the OC tab, dedicated to overclocking, for example, we can enable A-XMP and manually overclock the RAM, changing the frequency and timings. Here we also find all the options that allow you to customize the voltages of the memories and the CPU, as well as the ability to access specific processor features through the “CPU Features” submenu.

On the MSI Prestige X570 Creation we also find the Board Explorer functionality, present on most MSI motherboards. It is a feature that opens one interactive map of the motherboard (like the one you see below), which allows you to view information on the highlighted components by simply clicking on them with the mouse.

Performance

We have tested this MSI Prestige X570 Creation with a Ryzen 7 3700X new generation cooled by an AIO heatsink ROG Ryujin 360, 16GB of RAM G.Skill TridentZ Royal and an 850 Watt ROG Thor 850 power supply. As video card we instead chose Asus ROG Strix GTX 1650 OC Edition, while for storage we relied on a Crucial MX500.

Overclock

Overclocking side we focused on RAM memories more than on the CPU. The G.Skill TridentZ Royal use Samsung B-Die chips and are perfect for this purpose, as it is possible to make them go beyond 3600 MHz quite easily.

MSI Prestige X570 Creation

In the various tests carried out with the MSI Prestige X570 Creation we managed to obtain a stable and functional system up to 4466 MHz, with timing CL 18-21-21-38 and a voltage equal to 1.5 V. In addition, the platform was unstable.

Conclusions

The MSI Prestige X570 Creation is a motherboard dedicated to those who work with content creation and has to do daily with rendering software, 3D and 2D animation, photo editing and video editing. It offers a good number of expansion slots and many USB ports, necessary for content creators to connect all their external devices.

In the sales package we also find M.2 XPANDER-Z GEN4, a card that connects to a PCIe x16 slot and offers two additional M.2 slots with PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, cooled by a fan. This is a plus to keep in mind, especially given the audience to which the card is addressed: those who work in content creation know that some projects even weigh several tens of GB and the space is never enough.

MSI Prestige X570 Creation

Speaking of prices, at the moment the MSI Prestige X570 Creation costs around 485 euros (you can find it at this link). Unlike what has been done with the other motherboards for the new AMD Ryzen 3000 processors, we cannot make a comparison with a similar model with the Intel Z390 platform, as the Creation line had so far been the preserve of the HEDT Ryzen Threadripper and Intel Core X processors We can however make a comparison with the high-end proposals of the other manufacturers equipped with X570 chipset and dedicated to this type of user: in this case, the price of the MSI Prestige X570 Creation is lower than that of competitors, but still remains quite high.

In the tests dedicated to the content creation of PCMark 10, the MSI motherboard did not shine for the scores obtained, but we reiterate that the differences with the models that performed better in the benchmarks are extremely small and hardly visible in daily and business use. In conclusion, if you are content creators who want to assemble a high-end PC and are willing to exploit not only the many cores made available by the new Ryzen 3000, but also the speed of the PCI-Express 4.0 SSDs, this MSI Prestige X570 Creation is undoubtedly a card to consider, as it has all the credentials to meet your needs.
