if everything is good could try to reset the bios at the mobo by shorting out JBAT1 (shows how in manuel). I have had to flash the BIOS also with a USB drive one time, MOBO was unresponsive. Other than that its been a good board. So really all I know to do is check make sure all devices are plugged in correct and try reset BIOS as last resort.

It replaced an Asrock X570 Extreme4 due to better compatibility with the ARGB in my case and the better aesthetics for my build. I am extremely happy with the choice I made, and would do it again. The BIOS is also a bit more user friendly in my opinion over the Asrock, and the RAM is much more stable when overclocking as the Asrock wouldn’t even let me get to the rated 3200 Mhz on my Corsair Vengeance Pro sticks at its XMP profile. With this board it wasn’t an issue at all, and it actually lets me hit 3733Mhz with looser timings without issue as well. If you are looking for a good board to put your shiny new Ryzen 3000 series CPU in, look no further!

As a retired senior I wanted an easy stable build that had good future proofing. I had this system assembled and booted in a few hours with a Ryzen 5-2600, 500GB SSD, Corsair Vengeance LPX (2X8) DDR4 3600 and RX 570-8GB for video.Power supply was a Corsair RM850 Gold. System booted first time with a clean install of Windows 10.

I had seen possible WiFi problems from other posts so I ran a temp CAT 5 cable for all the updates (software and BIOS). I am not a big gamer however I did DL the last 2 Tomb Raider games (played some years ago) and found this system handled them easily with video setting on MAX. I did have sound stop after a windows update however I quick check on the MSI site showed newer sound drivers.

I updated the drives and sound works great again. It has been a solid build and trouble free for the past 6 months. I should add that I don’t care about OC or RGB lighting. I wanted a system to edit B-Ray videos from my Canon camera along with normal Office,Web and light gaming use.

This board is by far the best I’ve had. I decided this build would be crazy for me. It handles my new 3700X Ryzen 7, MSI 1660TI, and Dell 34 inch curved monitor, etc.

I have 1 Samsung 500gb NVME SSD for OS (has room for 3) 2 Samsung 500gb 3.5 SSD for storage and 1 is empty. This board is loaded with features that im not really familiar with. It boots extremely fast, looks great and is just fantastic. Sure, at $375 is costly but, I like the best and I like to tinker. I have not yet begun to explore everything about this board but it sure is a pretty piece! Did I say I like the best and love to tinker. This board in itself, keeps me busy. Bad Customer Review:

This motherboard has some serious compatibility problems with Ryzen 3600 CPUs. You’ll see it recommended on various websites and praised, and then you’ll see posts about endless issues. Never booting again from sleep mode, frying RAM slots, incompatibility issues. It is an affordable motherboard, and the software it has isn’t that bad. However, you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately, it has died. It survived from late July ’19 until last night. Another issue is often these are unable to wake from sleep mode (disabling sleep mode in Windows helped resolve this issue, it takes about 5 minutes to do within Windows), then stopped passing POST, and then one of the dual channel RAM slots just up and died, crippling my PC down to 1 stick of RAM. Now I’m buying another motherboard – mine usually last until they’re out of date. I take excellent care of my rigs and I’ve never had such issues before and I’m deeply disappointed. What happened, MSI? This is about as half-baked as possible, a quick release to make a swift profit. Software (Command Center) seems great, but the execution was poor and MSI won’t replace the motherboard. The BIOS is unfortunately very buggy, so be careful changing things within BIOS, as it’s a straight-up gamble sometimes.

Come on, MSI, you’re capable of better motherboards, please do right by your customers.

As for overclocking, we focused on RAM memories more than on the CPU. The G.Skill TridentZ Royal use Samsung B-Die chips and are perfect for this purpose, as it is possible to make them go beyond 3600 MHz quite easily.

In the various tests carried out with the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi we were unable to go beyond 4333 MHz (without actively cooling the RAM): once the 4400 MHz is set, the platform does not start even changing the timings or the voltage. At 4333 MHz with timing CL 20-21-21-38 and a voltage equal to 1.5 V, the system is stable and fully functional.

Temperatures and consumption

Speaking of temperatures, the readings are good for both the CPU and the X570 chipset, which never exceeds 60 degrees in our stress test. Also good the temperature recorded on VRM, equal to 56 degrees.

Given what has appeared online in recent months, we have decided to make this an MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi additional VRM test, to understand if there were really problems with temperatures not visible with our classic test suite. We have run in Cinebench R20 multi core loop for about two hours (so simulate a real rendering load with Cinema 4D) and the results have been satisfactory: VRMs do not have never exceeded 60 degrees centigrade.
