[Présentation] Noctua A4x10, A6x25, A9x14: Specs | Price | CPU | Profitability| Hashrate| best Coins | Config | Advantage (Pros) and Disadvantages (Cons) and other important features that will help you make better decision.

Hi all !

Noctua, in addition to having “classic” fans due to their sizes and uses also more original fans intended for a little more specific uses I named the A4x10, A6x25 and A9x14!
These fans are supposed to take up the philosophy of Noctua, ie performance, silence and very complete bundle despite the miniaturization!
Unfortunately I do not have any equipment compatible with these fans so you will be entitled to a presentation and a sound level test, we do what we can! 🙂

Presentation and bundle

The box is like the others of the brand, sober and displaying the main characteristics.

The bundle consists of:

  • 4 fixations anti vibrations
  • 4 vis
  • 1 3-pin / 2-pin adapter
  • 1 3-pin extension of 30 cm
  • 1 LNA adapter (3700RPM)
  • 1 OmniJoin adapter
  • 1 manuel

The bundle is as usual at Noctua very complete for the NF-14 × 10 FLX and you will normally not miss anything! The OmniJoin adapter will allow you to connect this fan directly to the cables of the old fan it replaces, again a very good point for Noctua 🙂

A box in the continuity of Noctua products, sober with the main written characteristics.

The bundle consists of:

  • 4 fixations anti vibrations
  • 4 vis
  • 1 3-pin / 2-pin adapter
  • 1 3-pin extension of 30 cm
  • 1 LNA adapter (2400RPM)
  • 1 ULNA adapter (1600RPM)
  • 1 Molex / 3-pin adapter
  • 1 manuel

Very complete, you will have everything you need to use the fan, the many adapters will allow you to regulate it as you see fit!

The bundle consists of:

  • 4 fixations anti vibrations
  • 4 vis
  • 1 Y-cable 2 x 4-pin
  • 1 4-pin extension of 30 cm
  • 1 LNA adapter (1700RPM)
  • 1 manuel

Once is not customary, the bundle is very complete and nothing will be missing when connecting the A9x14 PWM!

Dimensions 40 x 40 x 10 mm 60 x 60 x 25 mm 92 x 92 x 14 mm
Connectivity 3-pin 3-pin 4-pin
Bearing type SSO2-Bearing SSO2-Bearing SSO2-Bearing
Consumption 0,6 W 1,44 W 1,32 W
RPM (ULNA,LNA) 4500 (3700) 3000 (2400,1600) 2200 (1700)
Max sound level (ULNA, LNA) 17,9 dB (12,9 dB) 19,3 dB (14,5 dB , 8,2 dB) 19,9 dB (13,5 dB)
MTBF >150 000 h >150 000 h >150 000 h

The first thing we notice is the speed of rotation of these fans, in fact their size does not allow sufficient ventilation if they turn too slowly. they all 3 have an MTBF of over 150,000 hours and a 6-year manufacturer’s warranty!
Note that they are all equipped with anti-vibration pads which will help even more noise pollution.

Attention : Part to be taken with a grain of salt, unfortunately not having access to the appropriate equipment and using an android application to take the readings the measurements below are only indicative! The readings were taken 15cm from the fans.

Despite the size which presaged horrible noise nuisance like we are all used to hearing from fans like these, well it is not! The fan that scared me the most was the tiny Ax410, a 4cm fan that, spinning at 4500 RPM, gave my ears ache even before plugging it in, but in the end it turns out to be extremely quiet, very good for Noctua which will finally be able to reconcile you with your devices using fans of this size.
The A6x25 is the quietest of the bunch, there is no audible parasitic noise and it will be quiet even at maximum.
The A9x14, which is none other than a 92 mm fan in “low profile” format, is a model which is very interesting if you are running out of space in your HTPC (or any other box with little space), it has a wide range of use and will be very discreet, note that it emits a slight high-pitched sound at full speed.

What can we say about this somewhat special series from Noctua? At first a little skeptical about the noise that these types of fans generally generate, I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to really test their cooling capacities, for lack of adequate materials but one thing is certain, if you are looking to replace a loud fan (for example in a switch, or a NAS etc.) with a silencer you have found what you need!

A big thank you to Jakob from Noctua who allowed me to do this test.

Where to find the Noctua A4x-10 A6x25 A9x14?
