AMD BC-160 mining cards are already on sale for $ 2000, according to PowerColor there is also a BC-2235 on the way

After multiple leaks, AMD BC-160 mining cards are finally starting to appear on the market, albeit at truly exorbitant prices. The first listings on Aliexpress sell it for the equivalent of US $ 2000, which really is a nonsensical price for the hashrate it offers.

Apparently, these cards are assembled by XFX and are based on Navi 12, offering a Hashrate of 70MH / s with consumption of 130W in Ethereum mining thanks to its 8GB of HBM2 memory at 4Gbps with 2048-bit bandwidth. This really is a very good hashrate considering its consumption, although clearly paying $ 2000 for these cards does not make any sense.

According to Powercolor, a BC-2235 is also coming

Apparently, in addition to the BC-160, AMD is also preparing a BC-2235, since Powercolor listed this model before the EEC along with the new RX 6500 XT 4GB. According to the Powercolor list, they have 10GB of GDDR6 memory and according to their nomenclature they are based on Navi 22 and offer 35MH / s, so everything points to the fact that it is the same mining card that Sapphire sells as GPro X060 based on the RX 6700M, which we had also seen assembled by XFX although without a defined name.

Apparently, AMD is monetizing all its low-selling GPUs under this new mining line, although the prices at the moment are totally exorbitant. It will be interesting to see if they normalize when there is more in the market, or if they will continue to ask for these crazy things, although we doubt that the latter will happen since practically nobody will buy them for so much money.

What do you think about the AMD BC-160 and AMD BC-2235 mining cards? Do you think it makes sense to sell them at such a high price?
