Along with the official announcement of the launch of the new graphics cards from the RX 6000 lineAMD published the list of the first games that will receive support for the technology AMD FSR 2.0. Debut responsible gaming will be Deathloopdeveloped by Arkane Studioswhich will have this feature in an update scheduled for May 12.
According to AMD, the new solution will allow gamers to increase the frame rate per second of their games, without losing graphic quality. The manufacturer claims that the technology will be compatible with both its hardware and competing products, without requiring the use of GPUs with machine learning capabilities to work.
While compatibility in games with AMD FSR 2.0 is limited, the company expects to offset this in the coming months. Also in the near future will be support for Xbox Series X and S. Sony has yet to confirm official support, but there are strong indications that it should bring the fix to the PlayStation 5 as well.
The promise is that the new version of FSR will deliver improved image quality over its predecessor, thanks to the change in system from spatial to temporal scaling. To take advantage of it, you will need to have at least an RX 5000 or GTX 16 series GPUalthough compatibility with older hardware is possible, but AMD does not guarantee that they can deliver good enough performance to consumers.
