AMD prepares Ryzen 5 5500, 5600 and Ryzen 7 5700X CPUs to compete against Alder Lake price and performance

Intel’s 12th generation Core processors have slowed AMD’s advance in the markets. Although Zen 4 is expected to bring Team Red back to glory, but in the meantime, the company will be releasing new Zen 3 models to balance things out.

After the successful launch of Intel’s Alder Lake CPUs, AMD looks like it will have to fight blue team offerings not with Zen 4but with discounted Zen 3 processors for desktops and Zen 3+ processors for laptops.

AMD is preparing to launch the new CPU Ryzen 7 5700X, Ryzen 5 5600 y Ryzen 5 5500 as a stopgap solution until Zen 4 is ready. The rumor comes from several well-known leakers, so there is a relatively high probability that these models are real and that they will hit the market soon, possibly alongside the long-awaited Ryzen 5800X3D.

The Ryzen 7 5700X is supposed to be a 65W CPU with 8 cores/16 threads, so it will most likely be designed to compete with the Intel Core i5-12600K and Core i5-12600 processors. Even though This is a bit strange since the 12600K performs like a Ryzen 7 5800X, so we imagine that the war will be more about prices than performance.

Arguably the most interesting of the upcoming CPUs is the Ryzen 5 5600, which is set to compete with Intel’s price-performance champion, the Core i5-12400. The Ryzen 5 5600 will reportedly have 6 cores/12 threads, so it will likely end up behind Intel’s offering.

These CPUs will be the last to run on AMD’s AM4 platform, but the Lisa Su-powered company has a real chance of making them a worthwhile upgrade path for people using older Ryzen processors.
