Another chance for cheap graphics cards. I’m talking about AMD Navi 24

According to the information provided by the creator of the Moore’s Law is Dead channel, in the first quarter of 2022 we will see the premiere of the least efficient new generation Radeons. They will be driven by the AMD Navi 24 core, still using the RDNA2 architecture, which will fight the alleged GeForce RTX 3050 Ti cards, which are supposedly being created, and the basic Intel Arc cards.

Cheap graphics cards, or Radeon RX 6500 on the horizon with the AMD Navi 24 GPU

As is always the case with cheap graphics cards, there is a chance that their mining performance will be too low for miners to get interested in them by the cost of risers, which should increase their availability and bring the price down to the MSRP level of around $ 200. Finally, we will see new cards for less than PLN 1000? We will see.

Ultimately, chances are that AMD will create two cards from the Radeon RX 6500 series, keeping their TDP from 100 to 120 W, which is equivalent to requiring a single power connector. This contradicts the earlier reports about the 75-watt TDP, which is said to be characteristic of the RX 6500 in the mobile version.

A TDP of up to 120 W will allow the Navi 24 to reach over 2.8 GHz of core clock speed, thanks to the alleged limitation of the core capabilities to one SDMA engine. So we are talking about two shader matrices with eight WGPs and a maximum of 16 computing units, which, multiplied by 64 stream processors, give a total of 1024 FP32 cores. Supposedly, each array would contain 128 KB of L1 memory, 1 MB of L2 memory and 16 MB of Infinity Cache, which will only support the 64-bit bus.
