Just as the M1 chips have brought Apple to a whole new level, while guaranteeing independence, their successors in the form of the M2 promise to be the next big step in the SoC market. Today we learned that Apple M2 testing is ongoing and the nature of the information itself matches the rumors about the M1 Pro and M1 Max before their debut.
According to the latest information, Apple M2 testing is ongoing
Apple’s System-On-Chip M2 for Mac will be the first upgrade to these proprietary Arm-based chips since its debut in November 2020. The M2 chip will be characterized by increased computing and even energy efficiency, bringing Apple hardware to an even higher level of performance-to-energy efficiency ratio.

According to the latest information from Power On Mark Gurman, Apple is testing “a new system on machines with macOS 12.3, macOS 12.4 and even macOS 13, i.e. systems that are weeks and months away from us (in terms of macOS 13). This SoC just has to be the M2, which can hit the redesigned MacBook Airs and the 13-inch MacBook Pro. When it comes to its specification, the game will be (apparently) a 10-core graphics processor and a slightly more efficient central processor.
