Asus and Noctua announce the RTX 3070 Noctua Edition

A few days after the first graphics images came to light, Asus and Noctua officially announced the new Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition, marking the first collaboration between the two companies in the graphics card market.

Kent Chien, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of ASUS Multimedia Business Unit stated in this regard:

Using our extensive thermal research and development experience, we have created a new heatsink tailor-made for the performance characteristics of your NF-A12x25 fans. Our teamwork provides quiet gamers and Noctua enthusiasts with a unique graphics card that maximizes heat dissipation per decibel of emitted noise, with a design that coordinates perfectly with other Noctua products on a DIY PC. “

In turn, Roland Mossig, the CEO of Noctua, stated:

Our customers have been asking us to create GPU cooling solutions for a long time, and we are pleased and honored to be working with Asus to make it happen. Using our NF-A12x25 fans and adjusting the heatsink for use with them, we have managed to achieve a significant increase in the performance-to-noise ratio. The Asus GeForce RTX 3070s were already incredible cards, but we’re confident that this improved cooling solution in the Noctua Edition will be the icing on the cake for our sound-conscious customers.

From what both companies showed, with the default fan settings, the RTX 3070 Noctua is 4 ° C cooler and 5.7dB (A) quieter than a standard RTX 3070 (we don’t know exactly which model), reducing temperatures still despite this large reduction in sound.

In fans in between, the results are even more impressive: Although both models reach the same temperature, the RTX 3070 Noctua reaches only 21.1 dB (A) compared to 36.8 db (A) of the “standard model”, being extremely quiet.

The companies have not yet provided details on the price of this graphics card, although they mentioned that it will hit the market in mid-October, so it should not be long to know. With the current situation, obviously it will not be economical, so the question is how expensive it will be.

What do you think about the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition? Was it what you expected when seeing a GPU from the Austrian brand?
