ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard sudden deaths confirmed

It seems that ASUS has serious problems, since sudden deaths of ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero plates are confirmed through several sites.

Through Reddit, the official ASUS forum and elsewhere are reporting that their plates ASUS ROG Z690 hero is literally dying from a manufacturing fault, and this is totally inadmissible when we are talking about plates that exceed 600 euros.

Apparently the fault comes from a semiconductor, which can throw us errors such as not recognizing ram memories, code 53 and others.

For example, the user u/Rockman 4 On Reddit, he posted a photo where his badge started spewing a strong burning smell.

I was running some stress tests with no problems, later while just browsing I heard a loud PUF and the system immediately froze, the motherboard was emitting a light in the upper right corner, and I smelled burned electronics, and saw that my motherboard was damaged on the PCB

Later user u/TheMaxXHD In the same Reddit forum, I also report a bug with the same ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard.

I myself have assembled a new PC with the ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero. I turn it on, install windows, and everything is fine. Around five o’clock, while just browsing the internet, it suddenly turns off, as if the power has been cut. I try to turn it on again, but nothing. I smell a burning smell coming from the motherboard.

To see what failed, I went to Microcenter and bought three items, another 12700K (in case the first one died with the motherboard), another Z690 Hero, and another corsair RM1000x (in case it was the power source). I reset everything from scratch again, making sure there aren’t any wires misplaced or installed where they shouldn’t be.

I run AIDA64 on the CPU and ram, and Furmark on the GPU, both for two hours and everything fine, no problem. I play a bit of Battlefield 2042 later, there were no problems there either. Then later in the evening while I’m browsing the internet it slammed down again, and this time when I look at the motherboard I see a component literally on fire.

In addition, we also leave you the links of more cases that have been reported in the Reddit forum: Case of u / Syke408 and case of u / Duhjano.

But what impressed us the most is the user in the ASUS forum, where he reports that the plaque literally caught fire.

So for the moment we recommend not buying this model of motherboard until ASUS officially communicates that there is a manufacturing problem and to see what solutions it can provide. It is not known if it was a plate roll or a manufacturing fault that affects all ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero plates.
