Battlefield 2042 has far fewer players than Battlefield V or Battlefield 1

Battlefield 2042

Officially, we could already say that Battlefield 2042 is dead, and the last official announcement about the game suggests reducing the number of players per server from 128 to 64 to speed up the search in games, and the reason is more than obvious: lovers of the Battlefield saga they have escaped en masse to other older deliveries.

Thanks to the database SteamDBwe know that on Steam, during the last 24 hours, Battlefield 2042 managed to accumulate 2,702 simultaneous playerspractically 4 times less than a Battlefield 1 released in 2016, which managed to accumulate 9,811 simultaneous players in the same period of time.

If we go to the previous installment, Battlefield V (2018), here we talk about nothing less than 26,003 simultaneous players, so we are talking about almost multiplying the number of players by 10. The matter is so worrying that even a Battlefield 4 released in 2013 has 2,676 simultaneous playerspractically the same number of players 9 years later.

Perhaps most interesting of all, is that Battlefield 2042 has some ratings “extremely negative” on Steam, where 88% of reviews resulted in a negative score. As expected, all the complaints are linked to the fact that it is a very green product, with many bugs still to be solved, its poor optimization, and one user even said that I would have preferred to pay WinRAR license to this game.
