be quiet! Straight Power 11, now with 80 Plus Platinum certification

All models in this new family of power supplies are certified with 80 Plus Platinum efficiency, which guarantees 90% efficiency with a 20% charge, a 94% efficiency at 50% load (typical situation) and 91% efficiency at maximum load. In addition, all of them also have active PFC (power factor of 0.99), and comply with the ErP standard that guarantees that its standby mode consumption is less than 0.16 watts.

Silence, efficiency and guarantee are its premises

As with the previous Straight Power 11 models (which had 80 Plus Gold efficiency), this new family equips the renowned high-end fans 135 mm Silent Wings 3 in diameter, whose operation is the quietest in the market since it is one of the few capable of operating at less than 200 rpm when the equipment is at rest, being virtually inaudible.

Among the internal components we find of course certified Japanese capacitors to operate up to 105ºC of Tier 1, and according to the manufacturer this is combined with an internal design of the wireless PCB (all are welds, there are no bridges with cable), so they presume of having excellent longevity and, proof of this, is that they give five year warranty Direct with the manufacturer.

As a family of top-of-the-range sources that are, they incorporate all the features that we could expect from high-end sources, and in addition to the 80 Plus Platinum efficiency certification we find 100% modular wiring In all models, flat cables to facilitate channeling in boxes with little space, and of course a configuration of a single and powerful + 12V rail.

By the way, that from the 650W model all these sources include a second EPS connector (P8) for modern motherboards, which many of them already require for optimal performance.

This new family of Straight Power 11 Platinum power supplies is now available (or so the manufacturer says, but it will take a couple of weeks, as always, to reach stores) in the following versions:

  • 550 watts for 125 euros.
  • 650 watts for 139 euros.
  • 750 watts for 155 euros.
  • 850 watts for 179 euros.
  • 1000 watts for 215 euros.
  • 1200 watts for 239 euros.

The prices are high, but considering that they are top-of-the-range sources, and seeing the prices that the competition has, especially in the higher-power models, they really seem to be quite adequate prices.
