A few weeks ago AMD revealed that it was already certifying the first monitors with a refresh rate of 480Hz, although it seems that this is not enough for BOE, which revealed its first monitor with a refresh rate above 500Hz.
Although the company did not indicate what the exact final frequency of this panel will be, the company mentions its frequency as 500Hz+, confirming that it works without problems above 500Hz, although it is not well known how far above it goes.
The panel is 27″ in size, 1080p resolution, 1ms response time, 8-bit color gamut, and an 8-line eDP connection. It is clearly not the best in terms of image quality, although it will be the best of the best for those who play eSports by having such a high refresh rate.
Being a prototype, the company has not yet defined its specifications, much less a launch date, so we will have to wait to see the first monitors with a refresh rate above 500Hz. The first 480Hz monitors would arrive in the second half of the year, so it won’t be long before we see this type of monitor.
