The club, owned by billionaire Mark Cuban, the second in the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced support for cryptocurrencies. The first was the Sacramento Kings team, which added this option back in 2014.
Possibility to use bitcoin by a basketball club appeared after his partnership with the payment company Bitpay.
“We want our fans who want to pay with bitcoins to be able to do this. BitPay will allow our fans around the world to buy products from Mavericks, ”said Kuban.
